HOW IT WORKS
Getting started is simple
Hear from a Stir Google Ad Grant management client:
“Stir Marketing went above and beyond to create a Google Ad campaign that was unique to our business and that met regulatory compliance. All the options were discussed thoroughly with us and I felt confident that Stir made the best decisions in our ad dollars and ad reach. I especially appreciated [Stir’s] follow-up and check-ins to make me feel confident that we were hitting our KPIs and that as a part of their client roster we weren’t forgotten. I would highly recommend Stir marketing for your next ad campaign!”

Frequently asked Google Ad Grant management questions
Yes. Many registered nonprofit organizations qualify for the Google Ad Grant, provided they meet Google’s eligibility requirements in their country and the program’s website and account requirements. Google Ad Grants are not available to every type of organization. Stir Marketing can help assess whether your nonprofit is eligible and identify any eligibility, website or compliance issues that may need to be addressed before you apply.
To apply for the Google Ad Grant, your nonprofit must first be eligible for and approved for a Google for Nonprofits account. Once verified, your organization can activate Google Ad Grants and complete the required Google Ads account setup. Stir can guide your nonprofit through the process – from assessing eligibility and providing application support to setting up your Google Ads account and campaigns once your grant is approved.
The Google Ad Grant gives eligible nonprofits up to US$10,000 per month in Google Search advertising dollars to support their mission. Your nonprofit can use it to raise awareness, attract donors, recruit volunteers, promote programs and services, share events or campaigns, and drive other meaningful actions on your website. Stir can help develop and manage a Google Ad Grant strategy focused on the goals and audiences that matter most to your organization.
Yes. A nonprofit can work with an agency for help with the Google Ad Grant application process and then have the agency manage its Google Ad Grant campaigns once the grant is approved. The nonprofit must establish and maintain its own Google for Nonprofits account and meet Google’s eligibility and verification requirements. Stir can help assess your eligibility, guide you through the application and account setup process, and then take over the ongoing management of your Google Ad Grant campaigns, including strategy, campaign development, optimization, compliance and reporting.
Yes. An agency like Stir Marketing can manage an existing Google Ad Grant account. Your nonprofit retains ownership of its Google accounts, while Stir takes over the ongoing management of your Google Ad Grant campaigns. We can review your existing account, identify opportunities and compliance issues, and manage campaign strategy, campaign development, keyword and ad optimization, conversion tracking, compliance and reporting. This can be especially helpful if your nonprofit has an active grant but isn’t getting the results or spending the budget it would like.
Google Ad Grant accounts must meet both Google Ad Grants program requirements and standard Google Ads policies. These requirements cover areas such as keyword and ad quality, campaign performance, website quality, conversion tracking and other program policies. Google monitors accounts for compliance, and accounts that fall out of compliance may be suspended. Stir can review your Google Ad Grant account, identify potential compliance issues, help correct them, and manage your campaigns to help maintain ongoing compliance.
If your Google Ad Grant account has been suspended, the first step is to determine why and address the underlying issue before requesting reinstatement. This can be challenging for nonprofits to diagnose and resolve on their own, particularly when the suspension involves website, conversion tracking or other technical compliance issues. Stir can review your Google Ads account and website, identify potential compliance problems, and help develop and implement appropriate fixes. We can also help guide you through the reinstatement process with Google (though ultimately reinstatement decisions are made by Google). Once your account is reinstated, we can manage your Google Ad Grant campaigns and help maintain ongoing compliance.
There are several reasons a Google Ad Grant may not be spending its available budget, including campaign, targeting, bidding, website, conversion tracking and/or compliance issues. Diagnosing the underlying problem can be difficult, particularly when multiple factors are involved.
Stir Marketing can review your Google Ad Grant account, identify factors that may be limiting your campaign performance, and develop and manage a strategy designed to increase relevant traffic and meaningful results from your available grant budget.
